Lou grew up in Mamaroneck , New York, located just on the outskirts of New York City. He graduated in 1995 from the New York Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Architecture. After college, he relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina and began his architectural career. Lou worked with a local Charlotte architectural firm, where he helped design commercial projects, mainly hospitality, retail, and medical offices. One of these medical offices was a unique design that was featured in the local Salisbury Times in 2001. After spending eight years in commercial design, Lou decided to follow his passion and focus solely on residential design. Lou has since spent eleven years working with some of the nations largest homebuilders, producing high quality designs and servicing as manager of several architectural departments. After designing many custom homes and overseeing renovation design projects, Lou decided to start his own design firm, Mamaro Residential Design. Mamaro is currently designing all styles of homes for builders in and around the Carolina region.
Lou has made a conscious effort to thoroughly understand all the aspects of residential design, from construction to real estate. In the end, he obtained his Residential Appraisal Trainee Certificate from the Mingle School of Real Estate in 2003 and is also a licensed North Carolina Residential Contractor. Lou is currently a licensed South Carolina realtor and is working to pursue his North Carolina Realtors license, as well as his South Carolina Residential Contractors license.
Over his career, Lou has acquired a unique perspective on what clients want, what designs will sell in the market, and how to effectively and efficiently construct the homes of buyers' dreams. He has gained a vast knowledge of designing cost effective homes over the past eleven years, which he has used to help his clients control the cost of their dream homes. Lou understands that listening to the client's wants and concerns is the key to building a successful relationship. Every client is vastly different; Lou tailors his approach to the design process in order to exceed the clients expectations.
Lou, his wife Lisa, and his teenage daughter are currently living in Fort Mill, South Carolina.
